..And off we go

Wow, my first post to my first blog.

I've already learned that I was born in the year of the Tiger. Fancy That. I'm not sure of the significance, but it's good to know.

Anyway, a brief statement of intent;

My primary hobby involves Comics. All kinds.

I've been a comic reader all of my life. As a child I read the usual UK kids humour comics. The Beano, The Dandy, Topper Etc.

In my pre-teens I was turned to the now largely lost area of sports comics. Scorcher, Score and my personal favourite Tiger. Ahhhh.....Nostalgia.

In my early teens I discovered American comic books, albeit in the form of UK reprints. This happened when I was ill and off school. As was the tradition, my Mother came home with a bottle of Lucozade (The only real reason to be ill), and a copy of Dracula Lives, which reprinted The Tomb of Dracula. I was hooked! I can't begin to count the number of times my mother has cursed her generosity.

25 year later, and I'm still buying the things. Oh sure, I've quit and sold pretty hefty collections twice, but I've still returned.

These days my tastes are still pretty mainstream, probably too much so, but I figure it's my time, money and enjoyment at stake, so what the hell.

So this blog will contain some news, views and reviews, and if anyone feels like joining the party, please feel free.

There will also be some stuff on other areas of interest.

I anticipate a slow start to my own postings, but the plan is that they increase eventually
